Earlier this year Paul visited Venice to view the Biennale and was astonished not just by the beauty of the city itself but also by the variety of people, both Venetians and visitors, that give this unique city its buzz. As a figurative artist, Paul found the challenge to paint the people as well as the places irresistible. After four months of hard work the result was a fresh, colourful show which balances the classic views that we expect from Venice with a sensitive approach to day to day events – the little corners – that make this city so special. The show was a great success, with numerous sales, but there are quite a few still available.
The gondoliers theme has proved very popular, with several clients requesting Paul to paint them thus attired!
